With all the fake news that has been flooding the internet, “The U.S. Census Bureau has asked tech giants Google, Facebook and Twitter to help” disrupt the 2020 campaign. They want to ensure that sources of upward of thirty URLs were owned by the U.S. Census Bureau so that people know where to go to support their candidate. In 2016, there we fake websites that were made to ensure that certain politician wouldn’t get elected by stating fake and wrongful accusations. There was a website created where they would tell you they would pay for your taxes if you voted for them. They want to make sure that there aren’t any misinformation threats.

Elementary fight leads to death

Our entire school district is saddened by this event," the district said. "It is very difficult to experience the death of a young person." This was the comment made after A Carolina fifth-grader was injured after a fight the student was found in the Nurse's office by paramedics unconsciousness and later died in the hospital. At this moment it is still unclear as to what actually happened in the 5th grade class room. One student has been expelled but may not be the cause of this incident. No parent expects to send their child to school for them to never return again. No response from the parents have been received.

Dallas Leasing Agent Killed

On the tragic day of March 14 at 2 p.m in Vineyards at Forest Edge Apartments Manuel “Manny” Anzaldua an apartment leasing manager was approached by a gentleman between the ages of seventeen and twenty years of age wearing all black. The young man asked to use Manny’s cell phone. When, Mr. Anzaldua refused . A struggle began, and Manny lost his life. There is one suspect in custody currently facing Capital Murder charges. There was said to be another suspect other than the one in custody but at the of the day we have still lost another Dallas native.

Border Wall construction continues

With the declaration of the national emergency at the Southern Border, billions of dollars have been reallocated to fund construction for barriers of all kinds in needed areas. Just recently, the Department of Homeland Security has requested the assistance of the Defense Department to construct approximately 218 miles of new or replacement barriers. In its request, it states that the "DHS requests that DoD assist in the execution of projects, within the Project Areas set forth below, to: (1) replace existing vehicle barriers or dilapidated pedestrian fencing with new pedestrian fencing; (2) construct roads; and (3) install lighting,". These plans will replace old fences and barriers that cannot block both cars and pedestrians, create new roads along the border, and install lighting to see at night.

Medicine is evolving, whether it is medicinal marijuana or VNS implants for epileptic seizures. This is only the beginning of what lies ahead concerning the future of medicine. According to National Geographic, there is coming a bionic eye which will be a blessing for a blind person. Another coming innovation will most likely be a... "contact lense used to track glucose levels in the body." According to NatGeo it will use glucose from tears instead of blood. Another unique idea will is the 3D printer which has already been introduced to the market. This gadget is able to create medical supplies and more specifically casts or artificial limbs. These inventions are just a few of the medical advances up and coming. Spotting Fake News

FactCheck.Org is a website dedicated to stopping the spread of misinformation. In one of their featured post “How to Spot Fake News,” Eugene Kiely and Lori Robertson tell Media consumers how they can be on the lookout for “fiction, satire, and efforts to fool readers” disguised as news. They accomplish this by explaining the red flags of fake news such as anonymous authors and lack of sources. Factcheck.Org advises their readers to look past suggestive headlines and pay attention to details such as the author, date, and sources for validity. The authors back up their advice with real-life examples of types of fake news to be on the lookout for. For example, the article alludes to a time when many people fell for the satirical headline “Obama Signs Executive Order Banning The Pledge Of Allegiance In Schools Nationwide.” If  people would have continued reading the full article, they would have seen that it quoted an imaginary source “Fappy the Anti-Masturbation Dolphin.” 

Although fake news is not always easy to spot, Factcheck.Org has numerous articles dedicated to fact-checking and debunking false stories in the media. The website even offers an “ask a question” link where people can submit stories to be checked out by professionals. Websites like FactCheck.Org are a valuable resource in a time where fake news is everywhere.

Technical Difficulties

On March 26, 2019 our beloved Wendy Williams interviewed Jemele Hill on her hit talk show "The Wendy Williams Show". During this interview a question was asked in relation to an anti Trump comment previously made by Ms. Jemele Hill’s. Before, the lovely Ms. Jemele Hill’s response miraculously her comment was cut then interrupted by a Papa Johns commercial. Of course this incident started a huge backlash reaction as a result of the cut off Per FOX "They experienced technical difficulties which triggered an interruption of the program. The issue has been addressed and resolved. The program will be rebroadcast tomorrow morning from 3am-4am,” according to Fox. But, as we all know Fox is known for its subliminal message, and cut offs or technical difficulties during highly political sensitive issues .

After an alleged attack staged on himself, actor Jussie Smollett was charged with accounts of conspiracy. 4 legged Hero

This is one of the most thoughtful things done in a city to pay tribute to a fallen hero. Rex was from the Netherlands and became a part of Greenville, Tx police force and died at age 8. The city of Greenville is holding a memorial service for him and is allowing citizens to bring dog toys that will be donated to the local animal shelter. Rex was named the Top Narcotics Dog in U.S. in 2017 and was also named the top k-9 partner. This gesture to a fallen hero is extremely appreciated by the community of Greenville. “While K9 Rex and Greenville Officer Pemberton are with another agency, we have all felt the loss and are pulling together to support Officer Pemberton and the GPD family,” Haines said from the Greenville Sheriff Department. Betsy DeVos defends reducing Special Olympics funding

On Thursday Betsy DeVos defended the cut in her department that proposed to reduce federal spending for the Special Olympics. DeVos argued that the Special Olympics doesn’t have a need for federal funding because it is a private organization that receives many contributions. Although, President Trump soon fired back and said “The Special Olympics will be funded. I just told my people, I want to fund the Special Olympics and I just authorized a funding of the Special Olympics”. This issue somewhat degrades DeVos credibility while slightly strengthening President Trump's because he will not back down with regards to funding for special needs children.

Patriot Paws

Patriot Paws is an organization that started in Royse City, Tx with a veterinarian and a handful of volunteers. This organization has set out to help local veterans who are in need of a service dog. Patriot Paws has now helped more than 30 states and their veterans be matched with a service animal that is specific for their needs. The process is a bit unruly and extremely long, but it pays off in the long run. This is Karen Mynar, she has been an ER nurse and a police officer and is now working in schools to show teachers how to help save lives. I think this is such a phenomenal way of giving back everything you have learned. This lady is saving lives by informing others of her training, not only in school tragedies but any type of emergency. Mynar says, " This can help save lives any instance there is someone who is severely bleeding." Being able to render aid in an emergency of any circumstance could easily be a game changer for an individual. I am very proud Royse City schools are learning these types of training. Proper Thank You

I am so proud of the city of Dallas, Texas for recognizing true Hero's today. On March 29, 2019 the military exchange in Dallas paid tribute to dozens of veterans that fought in the Vietnam War. Through their sacrifice and endurance our country came out on top, but the sad part is that it has taken 50 years for their sacrifice to be appreciated by Americans. One veteran stated when they landed about on American soil to "change out of your uniforms and prepare for a lot of abuse" says Provan. This is something that is outrageous and infuriating, however I could not be more thankful to the city of Dallas for recognizing these men and women.

Trump threaten to close Mexico border

Trump is known for is over the top rants on Twitter and his opinionated voice. Trump has announced to threaten to close Mexico border which could in return affect economically the U.S and the Mexico border. According to The Journal Gazette, "If Mexico doesn't immediately stop ALL illegal immigration coming into the United States through our Southern Border, I will be CLOSING the Border, or large sections of the Border, next week," Trump tweeted. "This would be so easy for Mexico to do, but they just take our money and 'talk." Mexican President feels as though he is doing his part but Trump feels different,which lead to Trump declaration to close the Mexico border.

Tragic Ethiopian Plane Crash

On March 10, 2019 a scheduled flight from  Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in Ethiopia to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya didn't get a chance to make it to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After taking off within 6 minutes the plane crash near the town of Bishoftu. 144 people lost their lives that day becoming one of the deadliest crashes. New evidence has surfaced that it might have been a reason why the plane has crashed. "Officials investigating the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crash believe that a new automated stall-prevention system was activated before the plane dived into the ground, two sources briefed on the investigation told ABC News." Not only has this stall prevention system was the cause of this crash but according to new source ABC, "The automated system — known as Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System, or MCAS — is suspected to have played a role in both the Ethiopian Airlines crash and last year’s Lion Air crash, which killed 157 and 189 people, respectively.
