It took a kid to get the ocean clean - 29 October 2018

As a traveling journalist, Starre Vartan became more curious in saving the planet after seeing many of Earths incredible wonders. Once she heard of Boyan Slat's trash collecting project she instantly felt the urge to go interview him and see the project in action.

Vartan asked what his inspiration was for creating this ocean clean up system and Slat responded with, "There were more plastic bags than fish," when he went snorkeling in Greece, in 2011. His response made Vartan want to get a closer look at the system and see how it truly worked.

She incorporated a ton of colorful pictures of Slat's clean up system and described how they worked in detail with the help of Slat. Vartan also made sure to use a lot of outside sources to go onto even more detail about the contraption and to see other peoples views on the ocean clean up system. Starre Vartan was making sure the world knew that Slat is making a change and that they can help support him too, or simply go help pick up litter before it ends up in the ocean.
