Jane Mayer is an investigative journalist for The New Yorker who is based in Washington. She focuses on "[covering] politics, culture, and national security" in her writing in the magazine. Mayer has also written an award-winning book called "Dark Money" that looks into the dark history of millionaires who use their money to influence the government. In her article, "The F.B.I Probe Ignored Testimonies from Former Classmates of Kavanaugh", Mayer uses an image of President Trump and his Supreme Court Nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, surrounded by many people to symbolize the fact that the whole country, consisting of many people, have their attention directed towards the action of the two.
