Jeffery Gettleman is a 2012 Pulitzer Prized journalist for his international reporting and has set
up as the New York Times South Asia bureau chief after being in the South Africa bureau for
more than 10 years. Most recently, he and his crew have gone to great lengths to report on the
dangerous fire that occurred in Bangladesh after an unfortunate chain of events occurred that
started the progression of a massive fire that “claimed at least 110 lives in one of the most
historic neighborhoods in Bangladesh” showing a strong motivation to share the tragic events
through groundbreaking journalism.
