On February 8th, a Plano man was found to have used social media to prey on young boys. Dontarious Jamal Scott, age 22, “[was] accused of using Snapchat and Instagram to solicit sexually explicit images from one victim and to sexually abuse another.” He was taken into custody on January 9th with nine identified victims but only faces two charges so far. Many of the victims gave into his demands out of fear or the promise of vaping equipment. Police have asked that parents be very wary about letting their children use social media as this is only one of the many examples of what could go wrong when unsupervised.
