Fake News: Facebook
Facebook is known for fake news and false advertisement. They can post anything and everything that they want and within a split of a few seconds they would already get hundreds, if not thousands of other people sharing it, talking about it, and getting it out in the public. However, most views believe that it is real because it is on social media and they don’t do any further investigation and see if it is true or not. Like Ahamd stated, “According to BuzzFeed, the top 50 fake news stories on Facebook generated around 22 million total shares, reactions, and comments for the year, which is 7% fewer than the 23.5 million engagements generated by to top 50 Facebook fake posts of 2017, and slightly more than the 21.5 million engagements for fake reports on the platform in 2016” For example, here are the top 10 fake news articles that were found on facebook.
