Limit to human lifespan

Another article that a journalist wrote about that was very striking was that there is an actual limit to the human lifespan, and there is evidence to back this up. There have been many people to live past 100. In fact, the oldest person to ever live was 122 when they died. This article states “ Here, by analysing global demographic data, we show that improvements in survival with age tend to decline after age 100, and that the age at death of the world’s oldest person has not increased since the 1990s. Our results strongly suggest that the maximum lifespan of humans is fixed and subject to natural constraints” ( Dong, Milholland, Vijg). I find this super interesting, also because most countries average lifespan are nowhere near 100, yet there are people who can surprising live that long.
