A week ago Major League Baseball superstar Mike Trout signed a historic contract in all of pro sports. He signed a 12 year, 426.5 million dollar contract to play for the Los Angeles Angels. There have been many big contracts in other pro sports but none on this caliber, in fact Bryce Harper who was paid a 13 year, 330 million dollar contract is even larger than any other pro sports contract despite being the second highest paid player in his respective sport. So why do kids coming out of college choose, football, or basketball over baseball when you make more money in baseball? A MLB executive for the Oakland Athletics stated "Kyler Murray is missing out on a lot of money". Kyler Murray is a student athlete who picked football over baseball but regardless it seems like the football route will work out for him based on him being projected to go in the first round of the NFL draft.
