Twitter vs Facebook

Image result for twitter vs facebookTwitter and Facebook, the two of the most popular social media networking sites of the last decade have been in fierce competition since the early to mid-2000s. However, the difference between the two social networking sites shines clear through the demographics of their audience and the perspective design differences between the two websites. Nate Swanner, a journalist from "The Next Web", explains the defining factor between Facebook and Twitter is the connection with family members. No-one connects with family on Twitter, it's just not what the platform is designed for. Twitter is all about finding and discovering new people and having interactions on a Millennial level. On Twitter, you can find follow accounts posting content based on your personal interest, or connect with peers. Facebook, on the other hand,  is for "keeping things personal" with family members and is used as replaced interaction between close friends and relatives. Outside of your typical family interactions, Swanner describes Facebook as "more of a cult of personality than social a social network" due to its "force feed" algorithm that curates your feed, typically going beyond what's popular and towards advertising your interests.
