During the upcoming weeks of spring my community started to face a big problem. That problem was the migration of birds straight into our neighborhoods. At first it wasn't an issue, but as more and more birds flew it became more and more of an inconvenience. Bird feces all over vehicle and all over the streets, the early morning chirping, and even aggressive behavior. According to my neighbor Joseph Wright “ I go to sleep and the streets are clean and the next morning they look like they’ve been spray painted white and green, it is absolutely disgusting”. According to another one of my neighbors, James Dolan, “What frustrates the community even more is that no one is allowed to harm the birds because they are protected by law so we can’t get rid of them by ourselves ”. All the community is allowed to do according to https://www.thecolonytx.gov/1057/Migratory-Birds ,a website created by The Colony, is “use a combination of scaring devices” this unfortunately does not solve anything because they just end up coming back. These birds are terrorizing our community one of the community moms, Jane Winston, stated that “ these birds are becoming aggressive, [she] was walking [her kids] to school when a group of birds swooped downs and tried pecking [her] and [her] children. She said “me and my children are terrified to go outside”. Throughout my interviews my interviewee’s use a combination of logos and pathos to appeal to the emotions of others. They exaggerate their accounts with the birds to make there situation seem 10x worse than it really is. These rhetorical strategies work great because they make the audience feel bad about their situation and forces something to be done about these misfortunate events.
