Sri Lanka Blasts: 359 Dead
During the eve of the Holy Easter Sunday where people stepped into the churches for prayers and while their intention was pure it was only a matter of seconds that moment turned into a tragedy. Sri Lanka was devastated this last Sunday where 8 bombings took place in churches and hotels of Colombo, Negombo and Batticaloa. The targets were the Christians mostly as the bombing happened in churches during the prayers of Easter Sunday. At least 359 people were killed and more than 500 were injured. The death toll is expected to rise more. It's the worst kind of attack Sri Lanka has ever seen after their civil war ended and it's also a huge shock to the whole world. No one claimed the responsibility at first but after 2 days ISIS claimed the responsibility for the attacks. More than 60 arrests have been made to the connection of bombings. Sri Lankan officials said, "They are still searching for people believed to be linked to the attacks." We have also heard that Sri Lanka authorities were warned before by some international officials that some type attack is being planned in their country. [192 words, 1 link, 1 quotation, 1 image]
