The majority of police departments across America have a twitter page to post updates and warning. Having each city’s department run a social media account keeps the residents aware of what’s been going on in their area and promotes safety. For example, today the Allen Police Department tweeted “SEXUAL ABUSE OF A CHILD CONTINUOUS - PC 21.02 F/1 - The Allen Police Department is currently investigating sexual abuse of a child offense involving Dontarious Jamal Scott B/M 08/06/1996of Plano, Texas. On January 9,” only a few hours after dealing with the case to hopefully ease the worries of the locals who have been affected.
