The movie Almost
Famous, is about a young man in high school who is aspiring to become a
journalist in the 1970’s. He has just landed an incredible opportunity given to
him by Rolling Stone’s magazine to take part in writing about what goes on in
the life of the rock band “Stillwater”. This film is fictional, however, it
shows how a journalist has to stay professional at all times to not form any
unwanted bonds that will interfere with their work. Nevertheless, the film also
shows how journalist has to go under cover to a certain existent to gain trust
to get the real scoop. The young writer goes on tour with the band and sees a
lot of negative aspects that go with being in the spotlight, at one point one
character says to the young journalist, “I am telling secrets to the one guy
you don’t tell secrets to.” This is very important for journalist to get to the
bottom line of a story to tell the public of what is happening behind closed
doors. [1 image, 1 link, 1 quotation, 178 words].
