Alzheimer’s

While going through more academic journals and articles I find one that was very intriguing to me, and it had to deal with Alzheimer’s and the ketogenic diet. Alzheimer’s is another disease that takes place in the brain, but it’s side effects include severe memory loss and destroys many functions of the brain. The Ketogenic Diet or “Keto” diet is a high fat and low carb diet that replaces the fat with ketones (molecules that break down fatty acid). The journalist used strong diction in the title of the article by saying the Keto diet was “promising” for Alzheimer’s disease. The journalist also used a bright photo of healthy fats that are in the Keto diet to make the article more appealing. It was so interesting that it said Alzheimer’s may be able to “improve their brain function by raising blood ketone levels.”
