An interesting journalist i looked up on was Hu Shuli. She is considered one of the most respectable journalists and is known for her investigative work on government fraud and corruption. In one of her articles, she starts with referring to the corruptness of the Chinese governments by mentioning that "Chinese officials have found it too easy to escape the law" (Shuli). This quote uses a good line to grab the readers attention by mentioning high ranked officials breaking Chinese laws with no difficulty. Another rhetoric strategy she uses in this article is providing facts and numbers. Shuli mentions how "
some 16,000 to 18,000 corrupt officials and senior executives at state-owned enterprises have taken 800 billion yuan" (Shuli). This route is able convey her purpose to the reader by including factual information.
