Journalists are extremely important as they are utilized daily in social media. I wish to understand how these journalists execute their jobs seamlessly on all levels. Christoper Ali and Damian Radcliffe wrote an article on CJR reviewing the top seven techniques used. The technique that most interested me was that journalists should "focus on original reporting" in local news(Ali 1). A shocking fact remains that "45 to 85 percent of all original reporting is done by newspapers and then picked up by other media"(Ali 1). Local journalists only have to focus on getting the bare facts. Their counterparts that are tasked with consistently putting together amazing national headlines are the ones with the difficult jobs. This explains why sometimes these big headlines are stretched or even false.
