As I mentioned in my previous post, Danelle Hallan is a twenty-six year old video journalist/youtuber that posts weekly videos of her walking the viewers through the details of a missing persons case. On January 12th, 2019, Danelle uploaded a video titled “Where is Tamra Keepness | Missing/murdered Indigenous female epidemic”.

In this particular video, Danelle breaks down the case of Tamra Keepness, which Danelle describes as an “aboriginal, five year old, little girl”. But unlike her other videos which are solely focused on the particular case at hand, Danelle connects this case to “The Highway of Tears”, a series of murders and disappearances along Highway 16 in Canada, where more than 20 women and children, primarily Indigenous, were victimized.
Danelle strategically connects Tamra’s case with “The Highway of Tears”, because it that draws in a larger audience, because as sad as it is, an unsolved epidemic resulting in the murder and disappearance of somewhere between 20-40 people, is bound to get more attention than one missing girl. Furthermore, by drawing in that larger audience, more viewers could potentially hear Tamra’s case and remember something. Danelle always has a board in the backgrounds of her videos with the victim's name and the specific number you should call if you have any tips about the case. [1 image, 1 link, 1 quotes, 216 words].
