DIfferences in Social Media

In today’s society, there are a number ways that news is shared on the internet. Through socialmedia, apps like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube have different ways of sharing about the news. Social media like Facebook shares information through sharing posts of recent events that have happened like conferences or decisions made by officials, LinkedIn is more concentrated on releasing news regarding business or career related facts whether it be conferences of other meetings in general. Twitter is an app that is more commonly used by the younger generation. News travels very quickly through twitter. Twitter also has the availability to share people’s feelings about certain activities that go around in this world. Like my teacher says, “Without Twitter, most of your generation wouldn’t even know what is happening in the world or what to think and what kind of opinions to form from these factual statements.” Lastly, YouTube is a great way to share about the news as it shares videos regarding people speaking about the different political topics that occur in this society. Overall, everyone of these social media’s uses these rhetorical strategies in order to grab people’s attention and to make them believe in the same things that they do.
