Don't text and drive

Texting while driving has become such a danger on many people's lives, yet we see many drivers ignoring the detrimental consequences that it can cause. The urge to look and respond to a text instantly, over-ways the repercussions it might have long term on both the driver and the people around. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 10% of all fatal crashes and 15% of all injury crashes were caused by distracted driversLink. Furthermore, studies have shown that texting while driving can be six times more dangerous than drinking and driving. On that note, it is important to mention that many states have already caught up on the severity of this epidemic, and passed laws prohibiting texting while driving. Nobody would want to lose a loved one, yet alone to lose someone for a text that can wait till you exit the driver's seat. It takes an individual initiative to make our roads safer for us, our loved ones and others. Don’t text and drive. [1 image, 1 quotation, 1link, 168 words ]
