After watching the movie Spotlight, a movie based on a true story about the journalism team that uncovered the horrible things going on behind the scenes in the Catholic church. The famous Boston Globe newspaper assigned a small journalism team to gather more information and facts about the priests sexually abusing little boys, something the Catholic church was trying to desperately keep quiet for years. What was so amazing to see is how the journalists were so passionate to find out the truth behind the accusations. By backing up what they found with interviews from victims, priests, and the church, the team was able to unveil the horrific true story and broadcast it for all to read. The Rolling Stone sums it up best by saying, “It’s ‘Boston Globe’ vs. Catholic Church in the best film about reporting since ‘All the President’s Men’.” [1 image, 1 link, 1 quotation, 143 words]
