Front Pages: Los Angeles Times vs La Opinion

Even though The Los Angeles Times and the La Opinion are both located in Los Angeles, California, they have very different front pages to attract different people. Their front pages from their February 20, 2019 newspapers are below.
Los Angeles Times:
La Opinion:
Based on the two front pages above, there are obvious differences. For example, in The Los Angeles Times, the front page consists of a few pictures and a lot of information on different topics such as "Wet winter mostly wasted" and  "Trump cancels federal grant for California's high speed rail" (Newseum 2). Whereas in the La Opinion, there are few words except for the titles and the pictures fill up most of the page. From the readers point of view, they may gravitate more towards the La Opinion for the reason that the pictures tell what the reader is going to read later on instead of having to read the little excerpts on the front page of The New York Times in order to get a grasp of what is located inside the newspaper. There is also a difference in text size and text font. In The Los Angeles Times, the size is smaller in order to fit more information and the text is written in more cursive letters. Compared to the La Opinion where the size is much bigger and takes up a greater percentage of the page and the font is in bold letters that show a statement is trying to be given. Both articles are appealing; however, there are differences that attract different groups of people in different ways. Newseum Front Pages [2 images, 1 link, 2 quotations, 268 words].
