The Wall Street Journal compared to BuzzFeed

There are many different sources that people are able to get their news from, two of which are BuzzFeed and The Wall Street Journal. Both of these apps provide people with news daily. Although both of these websites serve relatively similar purposes, they have very different layouts. The BuzzFeed layout looks amateur compared to The Wall Street Journal's professional-looking layout.

BuzzFeed:

 The Wall Street Journal:

Looking at the BuzzFeed layout, it looks like they are going for a more fun look, while The Wall Street Journal is going for more of a official look. BuzzFeed uses entertaining titles like "TikToc has Created A Whole New Kind Of Cool Girl" to get their reader's attention (Strapagiel). On the contrary, The Wall Street Journal uses more solemn titles like "Putin Ratchets Up Nuclear Warning Against U.S." to get their readers to click on their articles (Simmons). This shows that although both of these apps were created to inform people about what is going on in the world, they have very different target audiences. BuzzFeed's target audience is the younger generation, while The Wall Street Journal has an older target audience.
