Getting Your Sea Legs
This is Généreux Avallone, a Tuna Fisherman and self proclaimed “master of the sea”. Avallone has been fishing with his dad ever since he was eight years old, and has fully adopted the “sea lifestyle”. “Living on the water is very peaceful” he said when talking about his living situation and what he likes to do. Avallon sets out into the ocean and will spend months at a time there on his boat. When he gets bored he told us “[he likes to write].” While on his boat he likes to write about his experiences at sea, and he gives us the inside scoop on what life on a boat looks like. His work is very immersive and he makes it feel as if you are on the boat with him. His use of detail is outstanding and creates the environment around you. He uses rhetorics such as his unorthodox diction to help inform the reader on the real struggles of life in the unknown. By using his funky diction he creates a relatable media outlet for various ages. [1 picture, 1 quote, 179 words]
