In the television show “Gilmore Girls”, one of the
main characters Rory Gilmore has a passion for writing and dreams of a job in
journalism. Upon being accepted into Yale, she meets a young man whose father works
for one the best newspapers in the town and offers her an internship. After a
few days she is told she is not cut out and should give up wanting to be a journalist.
She ends up not giving up, but only after a few struggles. Over the course of
the entire series we are able to see the struggles the character with writing
and journalism in general. Even if you have a specific dream, you may have to
settle for what is offered to you in the moment in order to advance later.
