Journalist in the Wild ~ Katherine Graham

Since Katherine Graham was a young girl she was always interested in journalism. She went to Vassar College then transferred to the University of Chicago to study in journalism, throughout the summer she worked for the Washington Post which was owned by her father, Eugene Meyer. She had married  a man named Phillip Graham and he was in the Army, so she gave up her job to travel with him from base to base; later on she returned to her job at the Post. Meyer had persuaded his son-in-law to work as an "associate publisher" along side him, then he turned his business over to his daughter and her husband for one dollar. In 1963 Phillip Graham had a mental illness that led to suicide, his wife Katherine Graham took over the presidency of the Washington Post and devoted her time in everything even with juggling with five kids. Katherine had accurate reporting like visits to army bases during the Vietnam War and her reports led to controversial rights. In history, Katherine Graham is one of the most powerful woman in the publishing world.
