Mexico’s New President


President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of Mexico took office December 1st, 2018. He “campaigned to protect the human rights of migrants”. He wants to ensure that America does not make Mexico do their “dirty work”. With the pressure of President Donald Trump, it suggests that the Obrador might be working with the Trump administration. The program that the Trump administration is calling “Remain in Mexico”. Obrador is speculated to be accommodating that program. Mexican authorities stopped a 2,000 migrant caravan trying to enter the United States in Eagle Pass, TX. They held the people in a makeshift shelter until they were able to send them away from the border.
