Rhetorical Choices and Social Media: How They Relate
A rhetorical choice is defined by Quora as “the choices the writer/speaker makes in order to influence his/her audience/reader.” I find it interesting how all social media platforms deliver news in similar yet different ways. For example, all social media apps/websites have clickable links, photos, videos, headlines, and feeds. News is communicated in social media typically by providing an intriguing headline, a photo/video, and the actual news story. The writer makes a rhetorical choice throughout the development process of the news story in order to get their message across clearly and efficiently.
