One thing that is near and dear to my heart are Veterans. My family is full of veterans as well as myself, so you can see the bias there. I did some searching around the Dallas area for new things coming up for Veterans, especially those in need. What I found was in South Dallas there is an organization being formed for a "Tiny Home Camp" for homeless veterans. I thought this was an absolute amazing idea! Basically what is going to happen is the community is trying to build tiny homes on a piece of land for homeless veterans to stay at. These homes will include kitchens and the small necessities of life for each veteran. There are currently already 52 veterans on a waiting list for this small community. "From being in a proud position in the military to a not so proud position being homeless, everyone looks at it different but for me it was degrading" said Roy Thompson. This should never be the case of a former military member, we need to take care of our own. I think this idea is the perfect way to start. Great job Dallas, Texas!
