I compared two social media news feeds, snapchat and twitter, and
noted the differences between them. On snapchat, I found a “stay
tuned” story that covers the basics of about four topics, but doesn’t go
into much detail. Today, it covered a missing mom, drones, winter storms,
and the elderly using teen blood to stay young. On twitter, I went to the
news tab and found that the first two news topics were “Samsung reveals
new foldable phone which will cost $1,980” and “a man was fatally
dragged by a subway car in New York City.” Since these are both social
media sites and not official news apps, it makes sense that their top news
stories will be over more interesting topics than serious news. The
snapchat video has a narrator speaking briefly about each topic and every
now and then adding a joke to make the audience laugh and want to hear more.
The twitter news pulls people in with an intriguing title, and clicking on the title
will lead you to a very brief paragraph about the event.
