We hear the phrase "fake news" almost everyday because of the new popularity President Trump has given the statement. But what is "fake news"? Fake news are the "news stories that are false" with "the story itself" being "fabricated, with no verifiable facts, sources or quotes" (Desai, Mooney, and Oehrli). Fake news has taken over social media because of how "easily and quickly" things can be shared via apps like Twitter and Reddit (Desai, Mooney, and Oehrli). The disinformation of everything from recent news to pop culture is such a huge problem, one must use caution before believing anything they read on the internet.
