The Difference
When comparing and contrasting The Alexander City Outlook newspaper and The Anniston Star, both out of Alabama, I noticed that both newspapers have similar styles on their front page but do have some differences. The Alexander City Outlook is based out of Alexander City (obviously) while The Anniston Star is based out of Anniston, Alabama. First, both newspapers are showcasing local news on their front page and making it the main headlines. For example, “Florence Man Killed in Eulaton Car Crash” is on the front cover of The Star. While, the news may be different because there is 70 miles between the two towns it is still related to that specific town. Now, I noticed that The Outlook has one big, bold headline at the top that any reader can’t miss as to entice people to read it whereas The Star has broken down it’s front page into different sections with smaller headlines, so they could possibly fit more content on each one.
