Trump Administration Proposes Sweeping Changes To Federal Family Planning Program
"Under the new rule, posted Friday by the federal Department of Health and Human Services Office of Population Affairs, any organization that provides or refers patients for abortions is ineligible for Title X funding to cover STD prevention, cancer screenings and contraception." With this being put into effect, there will no longer be federal funding for abortions. This has left people angry, but some are for the proposition. Leaders of the anti-abortion movement are speaking out, and they are not displeased by Trumps call for order. Most of the people involved, already think that abortion should not be funded by the government, but pro-choice activists are outraged by his actions, claiming it is "a "gag rule" that will prevent doctors from speaking openly with pregnant women about options including abortion."
