New York bans plastic bags?

New York to Ban Single-Use Plastic Bags

New York has recently banned the use of plastics bags we see every day. There is no doubt that pollution is destroying our ecosystems, causing wildlife to be impacted the most. After California, "New York is expected to become the second state to ban retailers from providing customers with single-use plastic bags next week when lawmakers pass its annual budget bills" (Leins, 2019).  Their main concern is wildlife, and with these plastics bags free floating around the states, it has caused "harm to the environment and clogged the state's waterways" (Leins, 2019). This new law will potentially pave a new environment for the state of New York, and could spark initiative in other states nationwide.
