Looking into the very regularly discussed topic, racism, it seems that New York Times views it being as more based on "racial ideology"(Kaufmann). It is further expressed saying that "America isn't racially divided, it's divided by racial ideology." From this the reader can see how it is seen that people are not "racist" but more judging based on the way the individual grew up. This stretch of an idea is a little forcing to the audience making them believe that the current thoughts of racism is changing. The topic is still being heavily talked about and working towards finding solutions.
