Newspaper Comparison
When comparing Daily News newspaper and The Examiner I noticed that they each use different tactics to get their reader’s attention about the story of the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Daily News goes with a much more vocal and out loud tone with the words “ROT IN HELL” on the cover. They are making it very pronounced on how they feel about the killing of Osama Bin Laden and wanted that to be easily inferred. In contrast, The Examiner while using the words “The Butcher of 9/11 is Dead” on the cover, the headline is not as big and it still lists out sub-headlines through bullet points and even has the daily forecast in the top right corner.
