Newspaper Layouts

Newspaper layouts can vary tremendously day to day. Local newspapers is a good example of how different the papers can actually be depending on the importance and popularity of the news being delivered. For example on Alexander City, AL’s local newspaper it informs readers of multiple events occurring in their town, however each event on the front page appeals to a variety of different audiences. On Auburn, AL’s local newspaper however the headline reads, “Music City Magic Auburn wins SEC Tournament Title” and the entire front page is dedicated to celebrating the Auburn Tigers SEC Basketball Championship because although it may not apply to all citizens of Auburn, a vast majority will be interested in reading about the win of their college team. This shows that newspapers strategize the layout of their front pages based on the news of the day and how it applies to their audience
