Prayer Closet Left Standing After a Tornado

In Mobile, Alabama, Earnestine Reese has spent hours praying in his prayer closet. After a tornado went through his house in Lee County, this closet was the only thing left standing. The title on this front page news reads, “The power of Earnestine;s prayer closet”. The Press Register uses the word “power” in the title to insinuate and to imply the power of prayer. Then a picture listed throughout the article is a picture of Reese after there tornado unharmed and mentions the rest of her family as safe while 23 people had died in this disaster. Throughout this whole town this prayer closet was the only thing left standing and obviously played a factor into the family’s safety. The author of this front page wanted to signify the importance and “power” of prayer.
