Identical Strategies

Now a days there’s no need for a newspaper or a live broadcast cast that’s all been replaced by a tiny computer called a smartphone. There’s an app for almost every major news source out there BBC, CNN, etc. Regardless of the app they all uses a similar rhetorical devices to draw a reader in. While skimming through an article I read “logos, ethos, and pathos can also be found in photos and videos as well” this is true for almost every news app. Articles always start off with a dramatic image to entice the reader to click on the article then when you get to the article they use language that appeals to your emotion to make the reader connect to the subject. This dramatic language combined with some form of logos is increased tenfold when your dealing with an app that is either extra conservative or extra liberal. They do this to try and change your views to as far right or left as possible. News apps usually tend to focus on drawing you in emotionally because if they can appeal to your emotion then they’ll have you hooked enough to read their article. Conservative and liberal news apps uses logos and ethos to build some sort of credibility the they hit you with a form of pathos so they can hit you in the emotions and sway you one way weather it is far right or far left. Regardless every news app functions similarly they try to appeal to your emotions to get you to read and it work almost every time.
