Misleading the People

Fake news is so common nowadays. While looking for news it is so hard to avoid reading something that is not entirely true. After researching fake news, I was able to find a couple of steps to help protect viewers from trusting fake news. While reading, it’s best to determine the date first because then right off of the bat you can determine if the news is relevant to what is going on the world today. Once you determine if the new is recent, then you should make sure you read beyond the headlines because “headlines can be outrageous in an effort to get clicks”. This makes a lot of sense because some headlines are just clickbait for their viewers. There are more steps to avoid fake news, like looking up the author or clicking on the sources that the article provided. All of these things are great steps to take to spot and then avoid fake news all together.
