Trump in the Eye of Fake News
Fake news is defined as “false news stories, often spread as propaganda on social media.” I found that a lot of people use politics and common people or events to draw readers to the fake news made. A key person that happens to find himself in a lot of false news is the one and only, Donald Trump. I understand how this comes to be, he is the president, he does get involved in scandals from time to time, but the main reason is because he is a huge social media user. He enjoys to be in the spotlight and will purposely engage with the press. According to Politicomagazine, they stated that, ““He [Trump] wants to interact with reporters,” Baker said. “He loves the press and hates the press at the same time... He can’t stop himself from wanting to engage.” with that being said he is found on articles such as “Trump accuses media of not focusing enough on charges against Obama White House lawyer.” The authors of these false media articles use rhetorical strategies of using language to persuade or manipulate such as always saying someone did something like, “she was in prison.” That is how they get people to believe the fake in that simple way.[1 image, 3 links, 3 quotations, 209 words]
