The Road of Death

It seems like everyday on my way to school I see a wreck on 380, and if I don’t see it with my own eyes then I hear about a wreck on the radio. This is a big issue for me and my community because we live right off 380 and always get stuck in traffic due an accidents happening frequently. Christina one of my neighbors said, “380 needs to be made safer, speed limits need to be lowered, medians need to be put in… too many people are losing their lives on 380; changes need to be made.” Christina was very emotional when commenting on this issue because 3 years ago she lost someone in a fatal car accident. Christina went on to say that “every time I hears of another fatality on 380 it always brings back the memory of the person I lost.” Her comments focused on emotion and a want for change so that others don’t lose love ones like she has.  According to NBCDFW.com, “A string of serious -- and sometimes deadly -- car crashes on U.S. Highway 380 in northeastern Denton County prompted a local woman to begin a petition drive, demanding safer roads.” Hopefully this issue gets resolved soon so that no one else’s life is lost on this dangerous road.
