For years fake news has been a big problem, especially with the rise of social media. There are
countless numbers of fake news stories involving politics bias against one side or the other. For example,
a quote in 1998 from Donald Trump went viral saying “If I were to run, I’d run as a Republican.
They’re the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie and
they’d still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific.” It has since then been proven that this quote
was never said by Donald Trump, and there was never an interview of him in 1998. It is an ironic quote
because it states that people will believe every lie they hear, and this quote is one of those lies that many people believed to be true. This quote was most likely made by a person who is against Donald Trump, and its purpose is to make him seem unprofessional. There are also multiple false news articles about former president Barack Obama used to make him look bad.
