After reviewing various front page headlines, it has become noticeable to me
that the press is beginning to abuse their unalienable rights.
that the press is beginning to abuse their unalienable rights.
In the beginning, the founding fathers of America granted citizens the right to
circulate opinions without government censorship through the press. As time
moved on, media sources began to take that to heart. For instance, in 2011
the Daily News responded the event of Osama Bin Laden being killed by U.S.

forces by plastering the words “ROT IN HELL!” in bolded letters across the front page
of their article that day. After analyzing the front page of the article it dawned
upon me that this particular newspaper company might be appealing to their
general audience. According to Dr. Richard Paul and Dr. Linda Elder who wrote
How to Detect Media Bias and Propaganda, the media will “focus on what their
readers personally care about… even if their readers are irrational in some belief”
and will “treat that hatred as rational.” It just amazes me how one sided an article
can be based on its following and basic freedoms. [1 image, 3 quotations, 2 links, 181 words]
