Fake News on Twitter


Fake news has recently come to become quite an issue in today’s society. One of the fastest and most common ways to find and post fake news is through social media. In social media, no matter what the news is about, it can have a serious effect in society as it is very prevalent around us. During the 2016 Presidential election, there were reports of fake news. Apparently, “fake news was most common among conservative voters.” People who end up creating this fake news are those who have an opinion as well as thought process which proves motivates them to create so that other people in society can be influenced by it. Some rhetorical strategies used by people to create fake news involves the use of logos. Logos is the appeal to reason. The use of inductive reasoning leads to making conclusions that we believe rather than actual truths. Overall, there are many different strategies that are used by people who create fake news to help people be convinced by your idea or thought process.
