On the cover of The New York Post is a full-page photo of Jussie Smollet, an actor, with the word "LIAR", written in huge font, just under his chin. This photo and headline are two of the very few things on the front page, so it can be assumed that this is the most important story of the day to The New York Post and its readers.
On the other hand, the cover of The New York Times, another large news publication in New York City, is filled with political news. Stories about the "race for House", the "economic crisis" in Venezuela, and the "court's unanimous ruling" crowd the front page. At the bottom of the page, below the fold, is a headline that reads "Prosecutors charge 'Empire' actor[...]" The actor's name is not mentioned in the headline, like it is in The New York Post, and there is no photo to accompany the story on the front page. This shows the relative importance of this story in comparison to other current events to The New York Times and its readers.
