Inspired in part by Sharan Daniel's "Integrating Rhetoric and Journalism to Realize Publics" from Rhetoric and Public Affairs, this blog provides a space for students to explore rhetoric in their everyday lives.

How To Make a Difference In The World
Many journalists are out there making differences and doing different things within their work. Journalists have a big influence on the public and how we think about things going on around us. What they say and report most of us believe. They sway your opinions without you even noticing. https://www.one.org/us/blog/journalists-making-difference-world/ gives a feature on this particular journalist who is doing big things. Her name is Chika Oduah and she won "Journalist of the year". She is known for being "one of the first international journalists to arrive at the scene" of her cover story for the "kidnapping of 276 Chibok schoolgirls by Boko Haram" which was her breaking story. She is making a difference in Nigeria. Her stories "focus mainly on the plight of women, children, and orphans" which is valuable because not many will focus on international tragedies and especially be the first on there to report it and make it known to everyone to further the awareness of these tragedies. She is doing big things and will continue to become an amazing journalist with the right intentions. [ 1 image, 1 link, 4 quotations, 179 words]
