The Post

A film I recently watched was The Post. This movie does an outstanding job at showing journalism. It shows the purpose of journalism as long as the struggles news sources go through to publish stories. A website that touches on the film is http://time.com/5074756/the-post-journalism/. This website states "where The Post succeeds is not in making a universal case for journalism's impact but in depicting the work as its own reward for those willing to dig into it". This movie is about a news source trying to publish the findings of the government's hidden documents on the Vietnam War and expose them. The trusted news source spends time debating on if they should publish these findings to the world and if it is worth it for them. At the end they end up publishing them, which is followed by many other news sources. They find it worth it in the end and very successful but it could have easily gone the opposite way which is a struggle many news sources face by publishing certain articles.
