New Development of Allen Cricket Stadium

Upcoming news for the City of Allen includes the new plan for a 60 acre, $500 million cricket
stadium near the Sam Rayburn Tollway and Alma Dr. The stadium is only 1 of 8 planned 15,000
seat stadiums around the country hosting international and local teams around the country
including stadiums in New York, California, Illinois, and Florida so far. Its been announced that
the stadium will also be receiving an “infrastructure grant from the Allen Community
Development Corporation” with some investors like Donnie Neslen, Dallas Mavericks General
Manager. I feel like a cricket stadium could be an interesting new past time for Allen citizens and
possibly grow into a nationwide phenomenon.
