Different social media apps use different strategies to carry out information. Facebook uses "advertisement opportunities by allowing companies to reach out to the public" (Peterson). This type of rhetorical strategy is a poor way to communicate news to the public. Leaking of private information and cyber bullying can both be caused by providing advertisement opportunities on the app. Another app that does the opposite approach compared to Facebook is Snapchat. Snapchat takes a less aggressive focus on using ads.
The "ads are seamlessly integrated with the Discover area of the app, and users can avoid them if they want" (Volvoikar). With this strategy, Snapchat users are able to avoid negative ramifications.
