The New York Times Back Hand Opinion

With their expectancy of Trump’s reaction to Manafort, The New York Times titles their article, “Manafort Is Expected to Face Charges in New York, Even if Trump Pardons Him” (The New York Times). Mr. Manafort, an American Lobbyist and Trump’s former campaign chairman, is on the verge of potentially being sentences for tax fraud and bank fraud next month. President Trump has the ability to pardon federal crimes and it seems like that is what this news outlet is implying through out the article. Also stated , “while there has been no clear indication that Mr. Trump intends to pardon Mr. Manafort, the president has spoken repeatedly of his pardon power and defended his former campaign chairman on a number of occasions, calling him a “brave man” (The New York Times).
